Explanation:

This lesson will cover the topics of differentiating the difference between visual and graphic design, different visual design elements, Principles of Visual Design, Gestalt Theory, and Six Laws of Perception. Students will the importance of implementing Visual Design in their e-learning courses.

The logistic that I needed to complete in order to implement my lesson is the lecture aspect. This is a huge portion of my lesson and will be the most challenging because this type of topic needs to have visuals and make a clear connection to make sure the student understands the information that is being provided.

My responsibility to the learner is to provide examples. By providing examples, I am making statements clearer, providing students more information, and decreasing the chances that the information to be wrongly applied to their own course layouts. Since this course is all about how to properly implement visual design basics into instructional design, it is my duty that they have a complete understanding of the principles and practices so they know how to execute them correctly.

I needed to have the following prepared:

  • ·Canvas for learners to access materials as well as the lecture.
  • Screencast of the lecture for easy accessibility
  • · A Visual Design checklist for students to be able to plan layouts and ensure consistency of their visual aids when it’s time for them to design their own courses.
  • A list of visual design tools, applications, and resources that students can refer back to.
